Meet Adrian

I am originally from the Midwest having grown up in a small suburb of Cincinnati, Ohio (Wyoming, OH) and have classic, Midwestern values. As one of seven children (I was child #3) who’s parents were married for over 56 years, I have strong family values.

Growing up in a large family I learned important community values like “hold hands when crossing the street” and to “look out for each other.” I also learned about fiscal responsibility and economy. There were no luxuries in our three bedroom, two bathroom home.

I attended Indiana University where I received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing. I worked for six years in Critical Care before returning to college in 1987. Wanting to stay in the Midwest, I continued to work as an RN while attending The Ohio State University where I earned my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1991. I moved to Atlanta in 1991 to attend the Emory University College of Medicine where I completed a General Practice Residency- which is a hospital-based program that focuses on providing dental treatment to patients with medical conditions.

In 1992, I started a private dental practice here in Dunwoody and immediately fell in love the community. Dunwoody reminded me very much of the family-friendly, community-oriented town I had grown up in. I also started working one day a week at Brook Run where I continued my love of caring for those in need by providing dental care to many profoundly mentally challenged patients, frequently under general anesthesia.

I sold my dental practice in 2001 in order to focus my attention on my family. In the years since, I worked for over 5 years at the DeKalb County Board of Health and have continued to work in the private sector as both a dentist and consultant.

In 2005, I joined the Citizens for Dunwoody working first in helping to raise the money needed for the Carl Vinson Institute study. I subsequently got involved with helping to manage their data base. I also attended legislative meetings, the most historic being the Governmental Affairs Committee meeting where the reconsideration vote passed allowing SB 82 to go to the House.

In March of 2008 I became one of the founding Board members of Dunwoody Yes! the advocacy group which helped deliver the resounding “Yes!” vote for the City of Dunwoody.

Let's continue working together in building our proud city. With your votes, I can continue my hands-on approach to serving my neighbors in District 2. I am happy to meet any and all citizens where they are: in homes, homeowners associations, or other civic clubs. Please do not hesitate to contact me with problems, questions, or ideas. My job is to serve YOU!
